DustDisc DustDisc
DS100-D DS100-D

The DustDisc is an innovative, low-cost dust settlement sampler. It comprises a horizontally-mounted sticky pad, located inside a convenient handling case that slides into a sampling head (complete with bird-strike guard). DustDiscs can be used to measure dust deposition as a stand-alone device or in conjunction with our directional gauges. When combined with our DS500 PM10 gauge (DS500-D), dust settlement, dust flux and gravimetric PM10 concentrations can be monitored in one installation.

When used in conjunction with the DS100 directional sampler (DS100-D), the combined unit is ideal for comprehensive site boundary monitoring.

DustDisc options available include:

• DustDisc - Stand-alone sticky pad dust settlement sampler
• DustDisc 1.7 - As above but includes a 1.7m mounting post
• DS100-D - A combined directional and depositional sticky pad dust gauge
• DS500-D - A combined directional and depositional dust and gravimetric PM10 sampler

The stand-alone DustDisc samplers are less expensive than “traditional” methods for monitoring dust deposition such as Frisbee gauges. The dust samples collected by DustDiscs are also much more readily transported because they are light weight. One drawback of using Frisbee gauges can be the high cost of transporting samples for analysis because the collection bottles often also collect large volumes of rainwater. With DustDiscs, rainwater runs away through drainage holes in the sample holder. Frisbee sample bottles can also leak their contents in transit. DustDisc samples are safely contained in a small case that can be easily transported by post for a lot less than Frisbee bottles.
