DustScanAQ are experts on dust exposure and we conduct occupational exposure monitoring of dust, fumes, vapours, mists, and gases.
We routinely carry out personal monitoring of both inhalable and respirable dusts at locations such as:
- Quarries, stonemasons, and aggregate recycling sites
- Construction and demolition sites
- Recycling and waste management sites
- Bakeries and patisseries
- Warehouses and distribution centres
- Intensive farming and grain processing facilities
Unlike other firms, we offer a complete service when it comes to occupational exposure testing. We set up and supervise the sampling ourselves and provide a professional and impartial approach that is favoured by the HSE, whilst making observations of staff activities and behaviour. We also survey the workplace and record potential dust sources and review any existing control measures. This information helps us make site-specific recommendations in our report. For dust exposure and other related assessments, we follow MDHS14/4 guidance, and all sampling results are compared with the relevant COSHH workplace exposure limits (WELs).
Filter weighing is carried out in our own laboratory where we follow BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 guidelines. For specific mineral analyses, such as respirable crystalline silica (RCS) testing by XRD, we use the Health and Safety Laboratory and other accredited facilities.
